Guidelines for the Use of Singa Rose Ointment

How to Use the Ointment

Singa Rose Ointment is intended strictly for external use only. To ensure safety and optimal results, please read and follow the guidelines below.

Cautionary Notes

  • Do not use the ointment on:

  • Pregnant women

  • Young children below 6 years old

  • Open wounds

  • Bleeding wounds

  • Sensitive skin

Avoid inhalation for children below 12 years old.

Allergy Test

Before applying the ointment to a larger area, perform an allergy test. Place a small amount on the fold of your elbow or the back of your neck. Within 2–3 minutes, you may experience a cool or spicy hot sensation, or possibly both sensations in different areas. Sensitivity levels vary by individual. If you do not experience any adverse reactions and are comfortable with the sensations, you may proceed to use the ointment on the area of concern.

How to Use the Ointment

Apply the ointment sparingly. For first-time users, avoid applying over a large area, especially on the upper body, as the sensation may be intense for sensitive skin. While the ointment is generally cooling, some may experience a spicy, hot sensation. Applying over a large area can intensify either sensation. Always use a thin layer on the specific area. When applying to the face, neck, or shoulders, ensure you are comfortable, as some users may experience tearing. Individuals with tender skin might notice redness or mild peeling.

Managing Extreme Sensations and Adverse Reactions

If the sensation is too intense, you can reverse it:

  • For a spicy hot sensation, use a cool, damp cloth.

  • For an icy cool sensation, use a warm, damp cloth.

If an allergic reaction occurs, rinse the area under running water for about 5 minutes without using soap or detergent. Seek medical attention if needed.

Best Time to Apply

The ointment can be used at any time. For best results on aching joints, aches and pain, and varicose veins, apply when the skin is dry and about an hour before bedtime. This allows the sensation to subside before sleep. Some users with insomnia have reported improved sleep. The duration for the sensation to wear off can vary. For children, ensure the treated areas are covered to prevent accidental contact with the eyes.

General Cautionary Notes

  • This ointment is for external use only.

  • Always perform a patch test before broader application, particularly if you have sensitive skin.

  • If a negative reaction occurs, rinse thoroughly with plain water and pat dry. Apply a moisturiser prescribed by your physician if needed.

  • Individuals with chronic pain due to degenerative conditions or injuries may find initial relief, but should seek medical treatment for underlying issues.

  • Pregnant women, children under 4, and those with open wounds or sensitive skin should avoid using the ointment.

  • After application, avoid contact with babies or young children for at least three hours or until the effects subside.

  • In case of accidental ingestion, seek medical help immediately.

  • If the ointment contacts the eyes, flush with water for at least 10 minutes and seek medical attention if needed.

  • Avoid bathing in the evening. Instead, use a warm towel for cleaning. If you must bathe late, ensure a warm bath and keep yourself warm afterwards. Dry your hair promptly if washed. Drinking warm water can help maintain body warmth. The best time to bathe is in the morning.

  • Do not take minor aches and pains lightly. Some deadly diseases, such as cancers, are silent killers. As a precaution, go for regular health screenings. Singapore’s polyclinics are well-equipped to help you. Don’t neglect your health.

The reason is that some medicines can work for all people some of the time, but not all medicines can work for all people all the time.
